As part of the 2018 Argentine Youth Olympic Games, an electric kart race consisting of a mixed team of men and women was held.
With the support of the FIA, the race had six teams on the Kartodromo track in Buenos Aires to participate in pre-match practice and qualifying.
The competition is a support plan for the Youth Olympic Games and no medals are awarded.
The local young man Franco Colapinto scored pole position and eventually won the match with teammate Maria Garcia Puig.
The Youth Olympic Games will be held for the first time in 2010 and will be held every two years for athletes aged 14-18.
The electric kart race held during the event was part of the official plan of CIK-FIA President Philippe Massa to promote electric karts to participate in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
